I found an interesting post by Jeff Jarvis of the Buzz Machine on the Media and the effects it has on the upcoming elections. Particualry, on how the news latley has said that everyone should just count Clinton out of the race and that Obama has pretty much locked up the nomination.
Interesting, considering the fact that neither candidate is close to clinching all the deligates they need for the democratic nomination. As well as. Jeff Jarvis says, and I agree, that this election is not over and for fans of either candidate to slow down and not jump to conclusions.
Is it surprising that the media can have this much power? I mean I understand that people will turn to several media outlets for updates and information on the election. Thats what the media is there for. But, can or even should the media have that kind of manipulation?
Could this be an upcoming serious issue or infact just....nothing?

I believe that the media plays a big part in the elections. They have a responsobility to the public to put all information on the candidates whether it's good or bad. However, that's not the case, they tend to try to gear us towards the candidate who is suitable for the job as being our president. Maybe, in the future the media will be honest enough to tell us everything we need to know, even if the person running is offended.
The media does make a huge impact on elections not only by presenting the facts but unintentional (and sometime I believe intentionally) persuade the public one way or the other.
