Well two rival companies in the same business are at it again. Subway is sueing Quiznos for a video made in a contest depicting their ways.
Quiznos early this year held a customer contest to made videos for Quiznoes vs. Subway and the winning video would be shown on TV.
Bill Blackburn of Lexington, Kentucky, made the video which showed two guys racing down a street in little gocarts. One being the Subway car and the other, Quiznos car. As they went down the street racing, the Subway car threw all kinds of stuff at the Quiznos car, showing all the unneeded toppings Subway puts on thier subs. In the end, the Quiznos car blows smoke out the back to knock the Subway car off the road and the Quiznos car wins.
Subway is now sueing Quiznos, Ifilm who made the film, and Viacom who held the contest. They claim that most of the 115 videos entered in the conest showed false claims and depicted its brand in a derogatory way.
Companies sue each other over things in ads all the time, so this makes no exception right? Well...not so fast. Now several Advertising agencies and Large companies are now beginning to worry that this particalur case may be the one that makes it now illegal to have ads against their competitors.
My questions to you is this. Do you think this issue is really that serious? Or did the media just have a field day with two large companies going at it again? Even now, should companies be able to depict each other in commercial ads as they do?

Journalism not what it used to be...
They say that high quality informations is essential for our democracy to work. And that now more than ever we use every media source to relay the message
Thats all well and good, but when the important audience, being the youth of America, are choosing other music and non news related media outlets, the point does not get across.
Today's teen and young adults are growing up in a society in which the concept "journalism" has been distorted with propaganda.
My question to you is do you agree that todays youth society does not pay attention to the important national and world news that is out there and needs to be heard?
Do you think we as a country need to do anything? Or is this just another topic made up to cause arguments and drama, which America today is good at starting?

Another round of Iraq chaos?
The first words grabbed my attention also. "Iraq passes bill to allow former staff members of Hussein's staff to run for election."I was stunned to say the least and really confirmed by belief that chaos and Iraq are a perfect match.
After reading an article in the New York Times today, I strongly support my opinion. In this article it said that The Iraq goverment passed and signed a bill stating that some of Saddam Hussein's administration could, if voted, be allowed to join today's Iraq government.
I know I live in America and dont know too much about Iraq and the war, but just off the top of my head, that move doesnt seem like one that's going to get you pass "go" and to collect $200 dollars.
