Quiznos vs. Subway

Well two rival companies in the same business are at it again. Subway is sueing Quiznos for a video made in a contest depicting their ways.

Quiznos early this year held a customer contest to made videos for Quiznoes vs. Subway and the winning video would be shown on TV.

Bill Blackburn of Lexington, Kentucky, made the video which showed two guys racing down a street in little gocarts. One being the Subway car and the other, Quiznos car. As they went down the street racing, the Subway car threw all kinds of stuff at the Quiznos car, showing all the unneeded toppings Subway puts on thier subs. In the end, the Quiznos car blows smoke out the back to knock the Subway car off the road and the Quiznos car wins.

Subway is now sueing Quiznos, Ifilm who made the film, and Viacom who held the contest. They claim that most of the 115 videos entered in the conest showed false claims and depicted its brand in a derogatory way.

Companies sue each other over things in ads all the time, so this makes no exception right? Well...not so fast. Now several Advertising agencies and Large companies are now beginning to worry that this particalur case may be the one that makes it now illegal to have ads against their competitors.

My questions to you is this. Do you think this issue is really that serious? Or did the media just have a field day with two large companies going at it again? Even now, should companies be able to depict each other in commercial ads as they do?

This was hilarious! It makes me mad that Subway is responding this way. For the competition makes for funny commercials. In the end, it does not make people dislike Subway or prefer Quiznos. It is only a source of funny competition. But I have noticed companies bashing their competitors in commercials more than often lately. Subway really should calm down. If anything, people will just view their actions as petty, and think of them in a negative aspect. Whether it is deemed as "fair grounds" for companies to bash others is a topic that I would like to stay neutral on. Like I said before, it makes for good commercials and I enjoy the chuckles.

This story is entertaining to say the least. Companies are always in steady competition with one another, this though may have gotten a little out of hand. The thing that gets me is the one that made this video was your regualr average day joe and Quiznos is the one that came up with the competition, "Quiznos vs Subway". I think that if companies are going to slander their competition they should slander all of them and not just one. As it proves this could get Quiznos in a heated law suit. I think that it may have gotten a little to far, but in the end the customer is going to pick which one they want. It doesn't matter if someone made a video bashing Subway customers are going to pick what they like best.

I'm sorry but this story is too funny. I cannot believe that Subway is suing Quiznos over this video. A lot of companies have commerical bashing their competitors, but suing them is just ridiculous. Burger King bashed McDonald's and Wendy's, but you don't see those two taking a lawsuit against Burger King. There alway competitions between different companies to prove their goods and services are the best.

I like competitions! I believe that people will pick what they want to eat regardless. Subway really shouldn's be suing for this reason, if anything, they should just make a video as well. That's what music artists do at least. Honestly, I don't believe companies should depict one another in their ads. They should focus on making their ad the best they can and let that speak for itself rather than coming down on someone else's company.
